I have less than an hour before my bus comes for work, so this will be a quick quick entry!
Into my third week of "sickness", but it's getting better. Apparently, everyone at Giant Steps (school for kids with autism where I'm currently doing my placement) are having the same thing, both teachers and students- bad cough, nausea, some even throw up, unsteadiness in limbs like legs and hands... and I thought I was just extra clumsy theses days. At least my appetite is back!! Yay for food! Just got a tumbler from Starbucks the other day. It's really sad, I've been wanting to get one for ages, but never actually took the time to go buy one, until I spilled coffee on a white shirt while trying to hold too many things along with a takeaway coffee cup on the train.

I'm missing Regal... it's still better than most other yum cha I've been to. Sadly, it's closed already.

That evil dish at the front has cilantro- parsley/coriander. They are all the same- smells like unwashed feet and taste like... *use your own imagination*

I realise we never try anything new when we go yum cha anymore- it's always the same few dishes that we get. Goal for next yum cha- try something new.

Prepare for a major whinge session. So tt and I went to Sushi Rio, and I used to compliment it all the time as being one of the best sushi train joints around, but now I have to take it all back, because it's probably gone under new management, and became quite bad. This was their octopus salad, which was nice, but we saw some stuff going around on the belt that had probably been there for hours. They even look all dried up and sad =(

Then we went to China Town for the Friday night markets. They have that "egg puff waffles" that used to be super popular in Hong Kong, but not so much anymore. Freshly made, the lady there always gave us the one that just came out of the press, all hot and fluffy and smelling like heaven =) She may look stern in the picture, but we went to her twice, and both times, she chose the freshest for us.

My totoro bag. So there are plenty of people out there who are interested in brands like LV, Gucci, what not. I just like bags that last, and from the looks of most branded bags, they can cost thousands and have thin flimsy handles that will most likely break if I stuffed all my belongings inside (yes yes, guys always wonder what girls put inside their handbags. Mine always has camera, keys, phone, wallet, and occasionally some books, but no matter what, it always seem to weigh about the same as a baby elephant) Rather than spending a few thousands on some bag that looks crap (yes, it's subjective, and to me, branded bags don't look that great) and will break if I stuffed a baby elephant inside, we won this bag from the UFO machines at Capitol =) Look at those thick handles!! =D
Sure, it's the most ever spent on those machines for us (we managed to win a Doraemon soft toy for $1! We're -that- good at those machines already, haha), but at least it's useful! AND it's Totoro =D

That's so true with my family too. On the rare occassions I go with other people I let them choose everything so there's a chance I'll get to try something different.
Hmmm, I thought girls carry more than that in their bags... what happened to the bandaids, hand cleansers, baby wipes, battery operated fan...
I'll take you some place nicer for yumcha next time, better than regal =P
God, it was really nice having "egg puff waffles" again, haven't had them in ages.
Lastly, women and handbags...something I will never understand. >_>
I think next time, don't order the usual "har gao and siu mai", and choose things you've never ordered before... but then maybe those unpopular dishes are not commonly known for a reason >< never know till you try I guess, haha.
Bandaids, yes, I have them! and in summer, I'll have a paper fan (battery operated? those break far too easily), tissues, yes, but I should upgrade to baby wipes- they can rub off stains! How useful!
Where's a yum cha place better than regal? I can only think of carlingford.. or places far away...
